Did you know that 53% of Americans who usually take a vacation have not done so since the start of the Covid. As a result, nearly 31 percent are dreaming of travel and actively planning for 2021. I am one of the 31 percent. If you have watched the news, you are probably one who has kept a watchful eye on vaccine news and confused about what to expect, especially if it becomes a requirement to travel. People are craving a change of scenery and an opportunity to catch up with loved ones.
Eventually the pent-up demand for travel will grow and when we do travel again, Americans will be looking to safety regulations that will make them feel more comfortable. In my research as well as occasional travels this year, I've noticed many hotels and airlines taking the proper measures such as mask enforcement, contactless services and flexibility, including easy refunds or cancellation policies. Measurements like this will play a part in the decisions on where people travel to, when they travel, and their comfort level.
Now in my opinion, if places start requiring a vaccine to travel, people are going to do it. With this being a wide spread pandemic, people would be most comfortable traveling if social distancing measures were in place and mask-wearing was truly enforced. When it comes to accommodations , travelers want to know that proper hygiene protocols are in place and hotels/resorts are offering contactless room service and takeout and contactless check-in as well temp checks.
